Diabetes Education & Prevention
- Visit local K-12 schools and teach kids about diabetes and its prevention in order to get them thinking about their health from an early age and equip them with the knowledge and tools necessary to make better decisions and lead happy healthy lives. We have done presentations at Birch Lane Elementary, CA Jacobs, Cesar Chavez Elementary, Elk Horn Village Elementary, Gretchen Higgins, Harper Jr. High, Holmes Jr. High, King High, Montgomery Elementary, North Davis Elementary, and Willett Elementary in Davis, Dixon, and West Sacramento
- Host educational workshops/presentations for adults on campus and in the community about diabetes, nutrition, exercise, and overall healthy living in order to educate the community and foster knowledge, awareness, and good health.

Campus Student Support Group
College is an exciting time in your life, but it comes with a whole new set of responsibilities and calls for a greater level of independence and maturity. How will you deal with your new schedule? Food options (dining commons, Silo, etc...)? What help is available on campus for diabetics? This is a unique position to be in as a student. Join a community where we exchange ideas, share experiences, learn about ongoing diabetes research, and offer each other support. The group used to be led by Dr. Shana Alexander, Psy.D., a psychologist at the Student Health & Wellness Center (SHWC), and is now led by a team of diabetics and associates. All are welcome! For more information, contact [email protected]

Good Life Garden
The Diabetes Advocacy & Awareness Group (DAAG) has formed a partnership with the Good Life Garden, which is an educational garden on campus that seeks to "expose and educate a wide audience to the relationship between good food and good health". We regularly write and submit articles about food, health, nutrition, and gardening, with an added twist relating to diabetes, to the Good Life Garden blog at: http://www.goodlifegarden.ucdavis.edu/blog
